And yes you guessed it, he was in a BMW.

Now bare in mind this was late about 1 o clock so no/little cars were around luckily.

This was probably the worst driving I've ever seen in real life, probably isn't far off what I've seen on TV programmes either

Coming back from town in a taxi, (what you should do if you've had some to drink ) and a BMW cut infront of us and narrowly missed us
we then followed him for a bit and he was swerving SO much I really don't know how he didn't hit anything, then he randomly sped off, I'm guessing upto a three figure speed as he dissapeared in 10 seconds He came inches away from a few bollards, some traffic lights, the kerb and a ditch at one point

It really wound me up seeing this, he was putting other peoples lives at risk. He's part of the reason why insurance is so high

Rant over

Would a video taken on a camera phone be sufficient evidence to investigate

Last year I was driving along in town and came round a 90 degree corner to find a Rover 75 sat there in the middle of the road.

I pulled over to help as could see someone was sat in it. Got out my car and could smell the clutch instantly.

Went over to the guy and opened the door and he was drunk as skunk. Was slurring his words and wouldn't accept his car wasn't going anywhere! Took his keys off him and told him to get out.

He got out and was staggering around (this was a guy that was about 65-70 years old). A guy that was walking along the street came over and helped to steer the car out of the road as I was pushing it.

Then we gave the drunk guy his keys back cos he wasn't going anywhere cos his clutch and gearbox were totally shot! It wouldnt move. Then I went and found a policeman as the police station was only around the corner.

He got done, lost his license. It was in the local paper. I got no credit for helping the police though! At least he didn't cause anyone else any harm.

nope......just phone the police.....tell them the car details, road, direction of travel, etc it gets passed directly from control room to an officers radio. You'd be suprised how many get caught like this!
