i just bought a K&N for £20 with all fittings for my 1.4 16v sport love it to bits theres one in classfieds i think still £20 +p&p

Unless you're gonna get an enclosed kit like a viper then i wouldn't bother, but £250 isn't worth it IMO.

Drill your standard box if you want it to make a noise

best one i would use is a ripseed bmc lookalike with the cold air feed disconected by a couple of inches..... ive got this on my 12. 16v sxi ... seriously it sounds quiet at idle but when you boot it in sounds a beast serious......

very true - I accnot really hear mine after 3000 rpm - more turbo noise than anything - which is all good

I very rarely see over 5200rpm.

BMC make good kits.

not noticed any loss in power on my car with the airbox drilled.

used to have a K&N 57i on it and it ran like a bag of shit. was pinking and it felt really rough to drive and it started using oil.

Because it's a sealed box and by drilling it you're loosing power theoretically, but in the real world what you gain from the wholes cancels out any loss but just sounds nicer!

I dont think any loss in drilling....derestricting will even gain .2 bhp !
