Plans of going abroad with the missus have fallen apart due to being refused time off work until the summer holidays, in which time prices go up stupidly so we have decided to go down to Cornwall and camp it nature style

Went to Newquay years ago as a kid, I remember it being an awesome Holiday - but then again every holiday is awesome when your not paying for it

Anyone been recently? Been looking at loads of websites - we really want to have a day of surfing lessons, i can take my skimboard and we'll do loads of other beachy fun stuff

We've got pretty giddy about it now, any comments/suggestions/reccomendations/critisicms?

Ta

Very very busy in the summer, but still excellent. Good nightlife, red lion pub is always popular.

Quality place!

Sailors night club is good, plus if you go out on a Sunday there is a massive beach party till the wee hours

Just the sort of answers I was looking for tbh, had a quiet holiday together, this time we want to have a real good laugh and always doing stuff.

Just wondering how much spending money we'll likely need for a week, im never anygood at judging that sort of stuff

Went there for my 1st "lads holiday"

There are some lively places to go to on a night out, one bar had various levels with a dance floor in the middle & you looked down onto it. Had a mad cocktail shaker dude too which was cool Try a brain damage

Going there this year again (well, I might be)

Beach Club? Between Central and Sailors? Good place.

I love Newquay. Not been for a few years now, used to go every year. Twice sometimes, once for RTTS in the half term and again in the summer. Should really make the effort this summer while I've some time off.

Trevelgue is the standard choice, bit rowdy though.

Sunnyside also younger scene.

Porth/Hendra quieter but more expensive and you must go as just a couple, no single sex parties.

Monkey Tree or Sunnyside for liveliness. Plus both run buses to and from the centre until the early hours.

Best clubs
Berties
Sailors (although can get stupidly busy)
Beach

Pubs
Sailors pub
berties pub
Newquay arms
Central

if you are lookign for fun stuff in the day, there is a small amusment park outside of Newquay with go karts and other stuff. Theres a crazy golf in the centre, and of course you can go surfing/bodyboarding.

Newquay is ace but is mainly populated by chav's these days, usually loads of trouble.

I lived in Cornwall for 8 years and I can confirm that Cornwall is shit apart from Newquay. Being in Cornwall doesnt do it any justice. Just dont venture out of Newquay

I'm up for it

I'm actually shocked that you're sort of planning something or will this be a last minute affair too

went last weekend - I wasnt impressed by Newquay itself - full of townies/chavs and it was filthy

however if you get just outside to Watergate bay its stunning

went to Jamie Oliver's new restaraunt which is right on the beach on Friday night
been to all three now - just got his one in Melbourne to go!

but the surf Extreme academy is at watergate bay
