After getting my 106 GTI a couple of weeks ago i came out of my house to hear the end of a conversation between a 40 something woman with baby and her daughter. I heard the older woman say "ooh it's good that, it'd do you nice that, what is it!" to her daughter, to which her daughter replied "yeah it's nice that, it's a FORD FIESTA i think?" to which i replied "yeah it's a 106 GTI, PEUGEOT!". The older woman replied "yeah it's nice that" and walked away. I can't see it myself i walked off wondering if people could really be that clueless? Anyone else had a similar experience

Not everyone is a petrolhead, if you'd stood there and commented on her handbag or something, she'd probably have the same reaction as you to her.

Middle aged women are generally thick as fuck and don't listen, get them all the time at work, I tell them some good stuff to get but might as well talk to the wall.

I've heard Police call a car a Volkswagen Corsa, and identify a Vectra as a Mondeo, despite me telling the WPC it was a Vectra GLS V6 saloon and giving her the reg.

I had a mate years ago who couldn't name any cars at all, but who could name planes while they were flying at full altitude over the schoolyard. Some people are just in to different things.
