The one i had a couple of weeks ago did 11.5 mpg average over 800 miles, in the city and freeway driving, including flooring it plenty of times. I wouldnt listen to those who havent driven one and base their facts on top gears reviews and (internet pub talk- *cough*robbo*cough*) which are meant to be entertaining.

They are easy enough to drive, but the physical size takes some getting used to, they just about fit in US parking spaces, and road lanes, let alone the tiny UK ones.
