Allows you to install it without entering a CD Key. Need to order a copy so it can be installed on a couple of systems a work. They have a CD key stuck to the system but i'm told by the big boss that a version that does not ask for the CD key must be used.

They all require a CD key to be entered, even the Volume License version, AFAIK. It's just the 'special shop' versions have the install modified to include the CD key.

Its easy peasy to make any version of windows not need a cd key.
There are tools on the disc to do it or you can make the file up yourself.
I've never ever installed a copy of xp that i've had to enter any details.
I stick the disc in, check partitions and next time I touch it it's at the desktop.
You can get it to do the partition bit 2.
Read up on unnatended installations.
There are more complex ways of doing it for big businesses.
Volume licence keys are for doing exactly this.
You use one key for every install but every computer still has its own seperate licence.

The corporate version is that one which does not require activating but still requires a key to be entered is this what you mean?

Microsoft have released the Genuine Advantage Tool to expose people using this and eventually they will block you using it

Genuine advantage isn't to expose people using corporate keys.
That would be a bit of a bummer for corporations.
Its to annoy you if your windows isn't genuine.
It also annoys lots of people who have genuine windows though.

use nlite to strip windows down.
Making an unattended cd is well worth the initial hassle.
Saves loads of time if like me you regularly re-install.
