Hi
I'm new to all this modding, my boyfriend has got me hooked on it. I need some help, got 16inch alloys with 205/45/16 tyres and am now going for a sports suspension. What i need to know is how much can i lower my car without having to mod the wheel arches? would be grateful for your help.

get some 16's with 195/45/16 tyres and make sure you stick to a 45-49 offset as it will rub when lowered.
As for suspension get a full kit dont bother with just springs as it will kill your shocks in no time. I would recomend Koni Ajustables which are around £350ish but if you are oon a budget G max will surfice
Also a 40m-45 mm drop is best as it doesnt comprimise handling nor removes too much impraticality such as speed humps etc
