Going in a few weeks on a all inclusive holiday and was just wondering if people took cash in dollars or dollar travellers cheques?

I know you need $10 to enter the country but Ive heard its a bit rough out side of the copmlex so wasn't sure if cash was the wisest choice to take.

$20 to get into the Dominican Republic

locals are very forceful but they have to be in order to make a good living. Tell the porters you'll be carrying your own bags from the airport to the coach and the same at the other end. Otherwise you can just hand them a few dollars.

Blokes sellings things on the beaches pis$ed me off also. Wouldn't let me read my book

You'll be fine with cash, just don't take all of it out with you. Keep sensible amounts on you. To be honest we only ventured out to buy some gifts and little bits and pieces. You'll get shafted as well with the prices
