Not nice to hear although as Mav said why was he trying to get away unless he had something to hide?

Bet he wishes he just got the ticket and got done for whatever else he was hiding now if he was still here

Thoughts go out to his family.

You wouldn't wish it on anyone and it's really sad when stuff like this happens. It just shows that sometimes some risks are just too stupid to take

Makes you wonder too, what the hell were the police doing chasing a bike at 140mph. Thats irresponsible of them really?

yep.. im GUESSING that at 20 yr old, living on a council estate that he wasnt insured on the bike that was capable of 140mph+ hence why he tried getting away. youre never gunna get away from the police, even on a bike. and when they do catch you... at least if your in a car, they can ram you off the road without too much injury, whereas in a bike, unless you stop for them, one way or another your coming off it

yeah i agree ed. the police should have thought "im not taking this lads life for the sake of a small speeding fine" (he wasnt doing those kinds of speeds when they decided to chase him)

so what are you saying if a criminal does a certain speed the police should stop?

great message to send out to criminals isnt it, do 140mph and the police will give up, surely the police wont give up no matter what you do is a better message to send out.

IMO this serves as a message to criminals not to bother trying to getaway rather than a message to the police to not chase at certain speeds

No sympathy with any of them. A 17 year old was killed in an Impreza last week, wasn't even his car.

They normally stop the chase when it gets to dangerous. So what you are saying is we should start being like the USA, where it's alright to kill pedestrians, destroy Police vehicles, ram people off the road, smash up other peoples property just to give somone a 6 month driving ban for doing over 100mph, or 3 points and a £60 fine for speeding or maybe a £1000 fine for no insurance.

was this in Salford, by the Maccy D's?

I was going past there yesterday and they had closed the road off. Went the back way onto the road and saw it full of Police on the otherside and a smashed up bike all over the road. Might be a different one, but that must of happened a few mins before I went past

140mph?
At 20?

Should be on a 33bhp restricted license.... Won't be doing 140 with 33bhp.

Its a rule for a reason, young riders are dangerous. No sympathy, speeding, whilst trying to escape.

Gives bikers a bad name.

Not if he passed at 17 and was restricted for 2 years only
