Rang them up to change my home address (should of done it a long time ago but have been busy). Guy answers and I explain the situation, currently all the mail is going to my previous address and I would like to change it.

He says "you need a telephone banking passcode to enable us to change any of your details". I say "that's fine" but was a little bit miffed.

Anyways, he then says, "can I have your sort code and account code", I give them to him. He then asks for my date of birth. I tell him. He asks me for my mothers maiden name and I tell him. He confirms my previous address and says they'll post the passcode today.

I was like "WTF!!!!" I've just given you my mothers maiden name and my DOB and yet still you won't change my address.

Sounds about right to be honest. Security checks and policies can be a pain in the behind, but at the end of the day they are in place to protect you the customer..
