How long you had your licence? Age? I was quoted £350 with NUD Fully Comp, been driving (legally) for 1 year but I'm 33 which would have stood for summat I guess.

Out of those two i can only seem to find the vegas but that one looks about right for the money.
I was in your position a while ago and got a 1.2 to learn in. theyre a nice car to start off in. SRI would be preferable in the long term but insurance will be high as you said.
Plus 1.2i engines are pritty much bomb proof
