The only described 100% sure way to sex the fish is to put a known male in with another Banggai and observe the behavior.

I'll see your strangely normal fish, and raise you this effort I spotted in an aquarium in spain last year

No fins as such....it seemed to use some sort of directional water jets to get about....got a vid on the fone but no idea how to host the fokka

I would like to add im no fishy anorak....
