Neither stopped my life, but you cant compare the loss of a tragic last chace past it alcy to a young man in his prime at the start of a promising career

Neither affected me but I was saddened by RB illness & resulting death.

George Best was a tool & ended his own life!!

neither 'affected' me as such but richard burns death seemed more of a loss.

George Best was a waster that used tens of thousands of pounds of taxpayers money for medical care then killed himself. dont care if he was good at kicking a football, he was a complete idiot.

George Bests problem was self inflicted and he was warned, but carried on drinking. A shame!

TBH shelly I consider Alcoholism to be a mental disease the same as others...

Ive had a couple of mates (older than me ) commit suicide due to alcohlic induced depression. It wasnt like they woke up one day and decided to be an alcoholic.

Many bad things over many years took there effect, and the poor buggers just drank to block it all out

Well put Jules, although he really could have done more to help himself!!

RB had an incurable illness & couldnt be helped, GB had an illness & didnt want help - both great losses really!!

Thats exactly the problem with alcoholics though....it saps the will to do anything let alone help yourself

Almost everybody I know who has a drink problem is depressed

And

Almost everybody I know that is depressed has a drink/drug problem

Vicious circle that
