Ok so the contestant deals on an offer from the banker and takes the money.

Noel Edmonds says 'lets see what would have happend if you have carried on and not dealt'....

Not sure about anyone else but ever since i saw this program I always thought to myself....its a complete waste of time 'seeing what would have happend'. How and why we make a particular choice is affected by many different external, conscious and sub-conscious controls such as our personality, frame of mind, current situation...blah blah there's tonnes...ask a behavioural expert....

Anyway my point is - to get the contestant to 'play on' as if they hadn't just accepted the 'offer from the banker' is complete nonsense. Chances are that if they hadn't accepted the offer they would make a completely different set of choices due to the differing circumstances at the time.....

It just annoys me thats all......

Lol, yea, it's a decent programme but Knowle pisses me off with the things he says. Every episode he says the same things, he's got like catchphrases "life changing sum of money" "you will be back after the break" so predictable

the reason they continue to play is to waste time and make the show the whole 45mins or so. Otherwise it would be like millionaire where some of the players get continued over to the next episode etc

fucking wank programme though - all my flat mates are really into it, they know everyones fucking name and how long they've been on the show etc

not forgetting when the contestants 'hold hands' in the belief that it brings them luck - that they can somehow affect the outcome of an inanimate object....

But whatever way you think once you've dealt on an offer regarding opening the rest of the boxes, you don't know whats in the boxes!

Yes but my point is that your choices are likely to be different than if you hadn't dealt....so you're not getting true idea about what 'might have happend'......

i guess a similar analogy is in football when people say 'with the amount of chances they had they should be 5-0 up'. True the amount of chances might have equated to 5 goals but if the first had gone in - would the other 4 chances have still happend....i doubt it...
