If sat for say a year, it would evaporate would'nt it? Also, would it loose its ignite ability?

What you thinking? the petrol tank in your nova has had the same petrol in it for over a year?

but if the tank is closed even if it 'evapourates' it'd stay within the tank.

it's octane level would drop by loads, and probably would evaporate, either way it would be useless

Yes, petrol has been in there for a year, the petrol gauge works but the light doesn'nt, Lee was under the correct understanding that the light should come on, but I forgot to inform him that it doesn't work, the petrol is in the red, that mixed with the fact that the octane level might have decreased over the year, could be what is causing the Nova to run like dog sh1te.

Oh how I prey this is the case

No diesel in it Paul, it has'nt had fuel put in it since Billing last year when the cambelt went.

but you know when people like discover wrecks of cars in a garage years later. They still start after a few attempts.

Their fuel hasn't just evaporated out of the tank or is it because its already low on petrol yoursaying

yes its in an airtight metal container with no exposure to the sunlight, it will not evaporate or degrade

It is airtight yes, but not in a vacuum.

it isnt fresh cream, maybe over years and years, and yes it wouldnt be the BEST fuel in there, but easily good enough to start a car

Are you sure, my car runs on Fresh cream, and if i'm desperate on Evaporated milk

Thats what i/m trying to say, i know it wouldnt disapear as it is air tight, but surely its quality and octane level would decrease

When my car went into the bodyshop it had half a tank of petrol in it, when it came back out it had hardly any petrol in it, it had been in the oven when it was sprayed the petrol evaporated.

Anyway, I think the petrol level is very low causing it problems.
