anyone have any recommendations?
looking for a half decent surround system, obviously dont want to pay throught the teeth, but would like something quite nice.

I have the Denon DHT-500SD and it's awesome for an all in one solution.

£400 but worth every penny.

Denon are a quality brand Bart. You won't be disappointed if you go for any of their stuff. Like i said though it's a bit pricey.

google the model I mentioned above. Nobody has a bad word to say about it.

The model up (DHT-550SD) offers 6.1 but personally I don't think it's worth it. 5.1 is ample.

I had heard, but the sound it brilliant im very happy with my set up!

Gewt a bit pissed off with my dad tho! The Bose system is mental and he has a FULL Mission set up with Yamaha A1 amp!

Got Mission speakers downstairs for the seperates stereo. Agreed they are the bollocks.

I got maratz Special edition CD and AMP as well, used to have castle speakers! They were probably the best ive had but £1500 for pair was bit silly

My dad bought a Cambridge Audio Cd deck from Richer Sounds recently in Leeds. As site shows some of the prices are Store was stacked to the ceiling!

depends what speakers u gona buy, if u get the yamaha for 99 they are good! for value but with some "space" scenes in filmts the sub wont be able to cope, as Ive found!

Yes sony audio is crap as sed above .Most buy in a box stuff aint to great you want to buy amp, speakers ,sub etc seperate .Try the AV forums on the net.
