Dad and stepmum are going away on holiday 2moro so I'm going to be stopping at their house to look after the dog.

Their house is like a show home. Its like its not lived in cos they clean everything up straight away and always seem to be hoovering. Does my nut in!

My little bro is only 4 and theres never really toys lying round, they get tidied up as soon as he has finished playing with them. Any other house I've been to that have young kids has toys lying all over the place!

I'm not particularly messy but they annoy me sometimes

Anyone else live in a house run by clean freaks

it was in the foOking wash room! mums a bitt ott - really does feel like its not lived in - I like order and cleanliness but its sometimes too clinical

My sister and brother in law used to be a bit like that, but have mellowed now. I prefer somewhere tidy but comfortable, where you're not afraid to move something

my mum is a clean freak, she hates it when I tell her this.

Luckily I don't live with my mum
But I occasionally have a go at the missus because our place sometimes looks like a bombs hit it.
But cleaning isn't my job

Why not? You contribute to the mess just as much as she does I bet?

because I work fulltime, my missus works part time because we have a little 4 year old. So she does it while i'm working.

I do the washing up

she also says i'm crap at it and that I cause more mess and I tend to hover/polish round things instead of moving them out of the way.
I tend to tidy my own mess up when I make it so in fairness I don't make that much work

I tell them they have OCD

They would get a shock if they knew the 'state' the house gets into while they were away on holiday

last day before they come home I go round and make sure everything is tided up and hoover everywhere to get it all back to how it was

I don't live in a show home, have a big pad though, gf keeps it tidy during the day, at night she can't be arsed and I'm either on here or on the pool table, or I go out at night so never really any mess made.

My mums really tidy and basically follows me and my brother and dad round the house picking up after us.

It doesn't bother me until she wakes me up at 8am on the weekend cleaning and playing her Friends Reunited CD at full volume
