According to Auto Express it's now going to have 200bhp to compete with the Clio 197 Sport. Sounds like fun.

Won't be 200bhp, that will be quciker than the Astra so they'll be shooting themselves in the foot!

perhaps vauxhall and opel are seeing sense, and know there is room enough in the market for 2 hot hatches, but one is a premium larger size and the other is a more street weapon inspired venture to go directly up against the clio and fiesta ST etc etc. look at Renault, they have the Megane 225 and Clio 182, and dare i say it the Clio is quicker

16k is overpriced if it's only guna be 160bhp, if it is 200bhp then that's another story. Wonder what toys it comes with aswell ?

I would like to see that & be prooved wrong, but going by there track record the corsa will be soft & the asstra will have all the thrills & they will push that & the corsa will be lame & under powered!!

there using the same engine as the meriva and they put out 180bhp, but they might put a couple of more ponies in it so it can out perform the meriva.

Sounds like what happened with the 16xe engine. Hopefully it will be restricted some way, then all the VXR owners can take them off.

Can't wait for this to come in the showrooms.

That sort of idea, do a VXR then say 500-1000 hardcore ones. Up the BHP a bit, strip it out. Kinda like the clio cups.

Nah they would'nt would be too daring, but I think it'd be a cracking car and a good seller. And possibly become a classic later in life if they dont make many. Just a thought i had anyway.
