No just 2 engines, 2.2 and 2.0 turbo. Dont know much else about them to be fair. Supposed to be good to drive, 2.0 turbos are pretty quick.

only 2 engine available

Z22SE - 146bhp
Z20LET - 197bhp
Z20LET - 220bhp (in the VXR220)

they are silly quick, obviously the ZLET is the better option, but the price reflects this

pros - quick, fun, quick
cons - small, impractical, not really much spec, Jade wont be able to wear a skirt and get out

not sure about performance stats, but i'd say mid to low 4s for 60mph, 150 top, 13 second 1/4s

2.2 is ok as far as im aware, belive they leak rain water

if you fit the roof seals from the turbo i belive this cures that problem

The Z20LET is obviously rapid due to the power to weight.

For how fast it is, it's cheap to run as it's a VX and petrol again isn't that bad for how fast it is because it's so light!

astra gsi did 22mpg when nailing it, about 25-28 normally, and 40mpg on motorway, imagine the vx would be less.

vx would be fairly good on economy cos it weighs very little

VX is better if you drive it sensibly as it's so light...even nailing it it would probably be better! Duno why it would be worse?

0-60 on the 2.0turbo (not VXR) is 4.7 i think the VXR version is 4.3 both good for over 150mph.. and im not sure what the midrange times would be..

Its actually the 2.2 that im interested in - cheaper to buy & run, Turbo's not in the running just now!! Anyone know what the N/A does ??

Also - Hard top, optional extra, how much, is it advised to have for winter driving etc

hard top was optional, but iirc, most people specified it

n/a does it in 5.3 seconds, and hits 147 i think

Im not arsed about tunning to be honest - turbo will be too quick for the road & cost more!!

5.3 & 147 is plenty really

I know a few people on here have them, really need to hear from them. Most important question is does the roof leak & just how bad in the rain......because in Scotland we get rather alot of it!!

2.2 16v is mechanically superior to 2.0 16v Turbo, engine is all alloy, no cambelt just a chain, not as fast 0-60 in 5.7 seconds (if you can call that slow) as the turbo which is 4.8 to 60 and the VXR is 4.3 to 60

Excellent cars, get one you gay.

*cough*

the roof did leak until I had the Turbot seals fitted....not leaked since

0-60 in an na is nearer 6.0 sec tbh....you hit the limiter in second at about 57.....re-map and raised limit will see you at 60 in about 5.3ish

MASSES of low down torque

A bit (read loads) understeery out of the box, geo sorts that out

Handling is utterly utterly sublime, breathtaking in fact

Yer im of the view the 2.2 offers adequate performance

Im still thinking along the lines of getting an elise or VX220 - just want to do my homework on both!!

Elise has the looks & flashier badge - which is important to me BUT cant help but look towards the VX which is basically the same car but around 5k cheaper!! I am starting to warm to the VX - saw a noce black one last week & thought it looked good!!
