Head Gasket my arse. I had a 1.4 K series Metro GTi a couple of years ago.

Screwed the shoot out of it everyday and it never give me any problems.

I think some are good, and others not!

A friend of mine had a 214 and it ate gearbox's, another friend had one and it went through 3 head gaskets in 6 months, i think its a case of buying the "right" one first time.

My mate had a 214GSi which was fairly nippy and well specced. He also had a 220 Coupe, which apart from the head gasket was also a very good car. I imagine the 1.6 to be fairly good too.

Some 216's were Honda engines Harry, others weren't.
