dropped me car of yesterday at me mates garage for MOT and sort a few things out (some banging coming from rear suspension and the constant miss firing)

first of all he tells me the front driver side arch flew off on the duel carrige way on the way to the MOT but managed to get it back. then lists everything that needs doing to it...

1. reconditioned rear beam
2. 2x new rear shocks
3. new coil pack
4. new wiper blades and a few bulbs

he rekons it should come to around £650 - £700

and already this month ive spent £270 on a set of new tyres and wing mirrors!!

i never have no luck with cars

i was speaking to him yesterday about if the rear beam was the problem and we came to the conclusion that rebuilding rather than replacing was the better option

tell him not to bother with shocks - replace them with bilstein sprintline shocks matey

also check ebay for 2nd hand rear beams, must be loads off vts / gti. bulbs and wipers = fuck all.

coil pack maybe £140?

also - lots of garages point the finger at coil pack when they talk about mis firing but it could be many other smaller things. have fun though.
