My mate keeps blagging me to start playing. He started a while back & he said he wants some one to play with ( )

He said its dead easy blah de blah de blah de blah but he's bound to say that if he wants me to start. Is it fairly easy? How did you all start out?

alsong and you havent got arthritic hands you should be fine, just takes time to learn the songs n stuff.. it will become frustrating at first and your hands will ache

You'll get pissed off at the start because it'll hurt your fingers until they've built up a resistance.

But id say go for it, once you can play 2 chords and they resemble an oasis track your hooked.

Something like songbird is only 3 simple chords, that was liam gallaghers 1st attempt at playing the guitar as well, good tune

I started by stealing the guitarists guitar at band practice

Depends how far you wanna take it. Lessons are never a bad thing to start with.

My mate takes lessons, £10 for 1/2 an hour

Then whatever you learn in that 1/2 hour you practise all week

He was saying greenday & Oasis songs are easy to learn/play

When i used to play acoustic my mum bought me a electric guitar for christmas and was well disappointed with the sound of it, you need one of those pedals with different effects to make it sound really good.

That sounds about right. Once you've got chord shapes you'll be able to play most stuff

Buy an acoustic and see how you get on. If you have time to practice then you'll get good quickly.

I dont know if id bother with lessons to be honest with you. It seems to me that the self taught guitarists are the best ones.

Liken it to painting, i dont see the point in painting lessons either, its a way of expressing yourself and you'll pick up your own traits eventually.
