Just seen the video of the crash that killed Dale Earnhart for the first time!
Can't belive it was a fatal crash. Compaired to some of the accidents that happen these days and people just walk away.

His head was thrown forward and this caused a fracture at the base of his skull. Basically his skull was ripped from his spine, instant death.
This is one of the main reasons that the HANS was introduced.
Dosent look much though does it

HANS had been invented, but wasnt mandatory. He was one of the campainers against the system (thats irony for you)
