what is this rasterbator? is it when u can print an image out in A4 papers to create a massive pic? if that makes sense

Well, if you mean the movie poster it'd be more like 5 down and 3 accross if you were using the whole image, as it'd be a portrait poster.
The main function of rasterbator is it turn the image into dots doesn't it?
If you were using the dot function then distortion, etc won't be an issue, but like you say, you'd need a fairly high res image to begin with.
Would be handy if I had the poster itself, as we have an A0 scanner here at work that could do a mega high res image for ya
