I AM William Wallace! And I see a whole army of my country men, here, in defiance of tyranny. You've come to fight as free men, and free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?
Aye, fight and you may die, run, and you'll live... at least for a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!

the films a single handed propaganda machine for the SNP.

i remember a story at the time, think it was a cinema in falkirk, where the folk watching started getting a tad rowdy and shouting anti english comments at the screen so the manager phoned the police.

they sent out an english officer, cue 2 arrests for breach of the peace and assault of a police officer

Yeah, tis so wrong, but is such rousing stuff and a great looking piece of cinema.

Can't help thinking that someone like Dougray Scott would have been infinitely better cast in the role of Mr. Wallace though, but they wouldn't have been able to sell it to the yanks then I suppose.
