cause its quick and easy, not many garages are gonna bother spending many man hours cleaning an engine properly.

steaming stripped the coating off my old 106gti rocker cover and my mates vts

its not good

I've jet washed engine before, cover all electrics and off you go, leave it running too...

yeah and water and electricity is a good mix aint it

it was the heat that stripped the coating onthe rocker cover

most probably will be ok, but we did it on my mrs clio last year and it screwed her coil pack

looks very clean, only reason it would take the paint off is if the part wasent keyed up correctly when painted!
