right im assumin its for a corsa so,easiest way to explain it, so sorry if it seems to drag on
set car up so you can get underneath, makin sure the handbrake is OFF but car is stable(i.e brick under front wheel),then you will see the cable running accross the rear beam with a 12mm nut and thread, this maybe quite tight so have a pair off grips handy, and loosen the 12mm nut off as far as you can, doin this should let the handbrake all the way off making it easier to get the rear drums off,(if you still have a problem gettin the drums off, possibility that the handbrake lever on the shoe has seized, when drums off check condition off shoes and free up lever with a small spay off wd40 and brake lubricant, copper grease)remove rear wheels, and grease cap, remove split pin(make sure you have two new ones)undo locking nut and remove drum, wheel bearing will come out as well and it is worth checking that as well, lookout for darkened or less shiny parts of the bearing, keep bearing clean and away from dirt.when drum is off remove shoes by twisting the locking pins so the pin lines up with the hole in the cap, making sure you keep everythin together.once shoes are off you can remove the cable from the shoe.there will be a small horseshoe clip on the cable as it goes into the backing plate so remove that.now by the centre part of the exhaust about half way up the car you will see the handbrake cable join the lever, remove the cable.then connect the new cable up,running it through the bracket and securing it.join the two cables up accross the rear beam, retighten the 12mm nut to take the slack out of the cable, and feed them through the holes in the backing plate, replacing the horseshoe clips, and connect the cable upto the shoes, refit shoes and adjust.refit drum so there is a small amount of resistance, and then adjust the 12mm nut until handbrake feels good, making sure the drums go around freely and will not get hot.make sure when doing up the bearing you have greased it again and tighten it so that it lines up with the hole for the split pin. grease up cables, especially on the points where they come through on the beam.job done hope that helps.
