cook thick things first and throw thin things on later on, turn very often, tastes nicer and cooks better

avoid chicken if you are unsure about it

best thing to do is

sausages
bacon
burgers
fry some onions

then in the oven, do some waffles

only do the chicken if youve cooked it in the oven first, same with steak, its a pain in the arse on a bbq

to check that its safe to eat, just make sure its not pink in the middle (applies to all of it really)

cook off the heat of the coals rather than flame grilling everything lol that tends to burn the outside and leave the inside uncooked

WTF...you a man, your born with the knowledge of how to bbq. Just get that novelty apron on, bbq tools in both hands and beer on the table next to you and it'll come natural.

Rule of cooking chicken - if its white, its alright.

Make sure its white all the way through.

With BBQs as mentioned, cook the fatter, thicker pieces of meat first as they will take longer. Sausages will drip fat onto the coals and make flames, which is why most BBQ'd sausages turn out black as soot!

yeah, cook the chicken properly in the oven, thats what i always do, then at least you know its done properly

with the steak shes right, but it depends how YOU like it, and it takes aaaaages to do on a bbq

all the rest is fairly quick though, just bulk it up by doing other stuff too, like the onions and waffles/hashbrowns etc

BBQ Waffles are also tasty by the way if you have them.

also, make sure your up-wind from the smoke or you'll stink of it afterwards.

also, try putting the open buns on the BBQ to toast them gently before inserting your sausage into one. lovely.
