.........I bought a job lot of 2 channel radio sets (the kind you use with RC cars and boats) from one of the distributors I deal with, 48 sets to be presice (sp). Thought, I would sell them on Ebay, buy it now, £29.99 delivered.
Sent one off to a geezer, left me positive feedback. One week later he sends me an email saying it doesnt work. I say, hard to see what problem is going on what you have told me, send the whole set back and I will look at it for you. He seemed happy with that. It takes almost 2 weeks for him to return this set, when I get it, the servos are covered in shit, one of the lugs on a servo is snapped off, the radio itself has fuel in and on it, the battery holder that powers the receiver is scratched to buggery.
I look at the set and decide the servo (the broken one) is at fault and its not moving smoothly and is having a few twitches here and there. From my experience this is the symptoms of the car they were installed in being crashed. My Dad has a look at it too, and he comes to the same conclusion.
So I email the buyer saying, I cannot be held responsible for this as its clearly been crashed etc. but i went into a bit more depth in the email.
Then this morning I get this email;
seems your not taking responsabilaty for selling faulty goods you can send me back what i sent you. I am absolutly disgusted with your customer service, that servo was not working when i recived it and your looking for the easy way out.
If it wasnt working when he got it, why did he go onto use it and get the gear covered in mud
Sorry for the essay.

your totally in the right and wouldnt worry about it. He left positive feedback at the time so must of worked when he got it! Plus you've a whole load of them, and if all those are fine then the chances are that one was too.

Yeah, I bought 48 I have 19 left. His is the only one I have had a problem with from the lot sold so far. If it had been in unused condition, I would have just changed it for him. It's just the fact that the radio had oil/fuel on it and the rest of the gear is muddy and scratched, you start to think.

Jamie state on your next lot of auctions that you will accept returns in their unused, original packaging.
Sounds like hes got it, used it, got carried away and decided to try and scam you out of another new one

Its too late for him to cause you any real bother on Ebay as he has left positive feedback allready and that cant be changed.
He doesn't have a leg to stand on

My main concern is that he will do some sort of claim through PayPal.
And I dont fancy having to change all the fricking books accordingly.

Tell him do one and tell him he has returned the item in a state which it was not sent in. It has clearly been used and for him to G.T.F!!!

if they seell that well losing £30 will be nothing compared to the £££ you will recieve.

you cant close your account cause you have listed items with money going to your paypal account.
its better risking losing £30 than losing x amount your gonna make.
he cant do anything through ebay about getting his £30 back but can through paypal.
did you send the item recorded delivery and did he sign for it?
