has anybody had problems getting xbox live set up with a Belkin wireless G router??

my xbox360 seems to detect the ethernet connection but cant find a IP address??

my mate had this same problem with the same router, apparently it is a problem with the router model in particular

any ideas for now guys, i will get up the model number and more info in a bit??

I had the same problem with my USR router. A quick firmware upgrade was all it needed and it works a treat now. Also, do you need to add the MAC address of the 360 to the router before it gets assigned an IP address?

i tried entering the mac address of the xbox360 and i tried turning of mac address filtering but no luck!!

i will try a firmware upgrade, any idea how i go upon doing this

belkin website? modem setup menu/page??

belkin website will give you the firmware update i too had this problem mate!

i think belkin routers are s***e

really old post man lol!

got rid of the belkin a while ago even after the firmware update which didn't help but made it worse! got myself a netgear now, which is awesome no problems at all!
