Shame Woodgate is injured, Campbell has lost it mentally, he's playing like a prick.

i was really looking forward to this summer but with all the injuries and players just coming back i.e. ashley cole i think the team will not be ready and it looks like rooney wont be there.

If we don't get very far because 2 players are injured then we wouldn't have got very far with them IMO

Carragher and Terry in the central positions, I fail to see why Sven doesn't see this, they are the most consistant defenders in the Premiership.
That fcuking Swede needs a quick bumming.

then it would be a 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 with lampard and gerrard just in front of the 3

3-5-2 would mean Beckham cannot play on the right, SWP would be a wing back and Ashley Cole is the only left sided player available to do it but is he fit?

If I were gunna play 3-5-2 my team would be:
Robinson
Neville
Terry
Ferdinand
Carragher
A.Cole
J.Cole
Lampard
Gerrard
Owen
Crouch

To be honest 3-5-2 can't be played with the current team as it means leaving out Beckham

If I was to be very precise instead of saying a general viewpoint, beckham has been one of Madrids best players of late, he's been consistant, held the team together and made a lot of goals, whether you like the bloke or not, his work and style of play isn't being rewarded by the performance of the rest of his team.
Besides I'd rather have him on the pitch than Crouch, what a joke he is.

While i agree that his work rate is good and he always gives 100% whenever he plays, in a 3-5-2 formation there are better players available to play in the respective positions, IE in the centre of midfield, both Gerrard and Lampard are better suited to play in that role.
4-4-2 would be different, and I would pick him to play wide right, with Gerrard and Lampard in the middle, and Joey Cole on't left, but in a 3-5-2 formation, he have to take a seat on the bench im afraid

4-4-2 is a better config
beckham or gerrard on right flank, cole left, lampard and gerrard or beckham inside
with support from Ashley Cole (if he's fit) and Neville
i would prefer defoe over crouch though

Yes I see what your saying, probably not right for the England team although I remember for most of Euro 96 they did play that a lot, with Campbell, Adams and Southgate being the 3 CB's.

If Rooney can't play I'd choose a 4-5-1 with:
Robinson
Neville
Carragher
Terry
A.Cole
Beckham
Lampard
Ferdinand
Gerrard
J.Cole
Owen
If we needed greater attacking, swap Ferdinand for Benty so 4-4-2

I would prefer Darren Bent over Crouch and Defoe, the figures don't lie and he is the highest scoring English striker in the Premiership this season, if Sven didn't take him before he Rooney/Owen injurys then he's a idiot, if he doesn't take him and play him now then he's a fucking idiot!
