was spraying my car with some Wynn's Carb Cleaner into my air intake pipe. Car felt like it was going to stall (seemed normal).
Sat back into my car and gave it abit of rev, (no more then 3k)
went back and started spraying more of the cleaner into the air intake, next thing i know, the thin extension straw you add onto the nozzle got sprayed straight in the air pipe. (started to panic)
So i sat back in the car and pushed the throttle on/off giving it short bursts in the revs. The last time i went to push the peddle, the peddle felt very weird and the Revs just went straight up off the clocks.
Please help me solve the problem im in, cant even get it to the nearest garage because when i switch the car on the revs automatically shoot over 7k revs.
Many thanks to all your help and sorry for such a long post.

yeah.
remove the upper inlet manifold (5 8mm bolts, 4 pipes, one jubilee clip) then pull it out and re assemble
30 minute job. nice and simple

basically, theres 5 bolts on the top, take them off, then down to the right hand side, theres a jubilee clip sort of hidden below the manifold, near that jubilee clip, theres 3 pipe which just push on, and one which is screwed in. you might not even need to undo them to be honest
its a shame i dont have any pics
might be some in the FAQ section

when you've undone the bolts and the jubilee clip, you should be able to wiggle the top bit off, if you cant, try to get those little pipes off (like i saym they just slide off)
you cant really screw anythingup, so dont worry
getting it back on it the reverse of the process, but its a bit more fiddly, just keep at it

we had a similar problem on my mates gsi, i think you need to remove some bolts from under the throttle body housing, if you move your expansion tank over you may see what i mean

alrite mate i had the same problem with getting the inlet off. you need to take the battery out and collant bottle like corsa munky said. then there are 4 bolts that vauxhall have deicded to put in the most akward place ever.
if you feel down to the bottom of that metal bit on the right you will see where am speaking about.

yep thats correct ^ not sure about your pipes, iirc the large one with the nut is the brake servo union? others are breathers i imagine
