tell him to bugger off in a nice way. Say you dont offer a returns policy and that the item was working when it left you.

buyer beware

its his fault he obviously has been using it, your not a shop any way you dont offer a warrenty you cant be held responsible for mechanical breakdown of a second hand item, if it works when it was shipped, its his problem now.

i sold my old vaux veccy bumper.
I advertised it as a genuine vaux bumper not a fibre glass replica.

I got an email asking for a refund as it didnt fit his car and he also thinks its fibre glass.

I told him not to be so silly, and take it along to Vaux who will confirm its a genuine bumper.
