1 mate got 6 month ban + 300

another got 3yr ban + 1200 + 50hr comunity service!!

All depends how much over the limit, what you hit & what side of the bed the judge got out of!!

Ban is mandatory. There are different lengths of ban for how much you are over the limit. Minimum is 12 months.

Depends on previous convictions, any aggrivating factors, and what your reading was.

Normally first timers with a low reading and a straightforward case look at a year ban (can be reduced by 1/4 under the drink drivers rehab scheme), fine of a few hundered pounds, and costs.

If you blow over 100 (limit is 35), you must go for an all options (incl. custody ) pre sentence report. Seen loads of people go to jail with no record for this.


If its your second time in 10 years, you get a 3 year ban. And do it a third time and its either a 5 or 10 year ban
What did your mate blow? What were the circumstances. I'll be better able to advise.
