What's the best one in all your peoples views?
It will go into a corsa that has a 1.2 engine@moment.
I'd need it seam welding too?

Generally, if you're going to the trouble of doing a conversion, you may as well go for the redtop as its more powerful in standard tune.

I think he was thinking of the cost aspect too, as the offer for a 2.0 ecotec is cheaper and has low mileage

Cost or value?
Its a few hundred quid, and its an extra 20 brake.

If I were to put a 2.0 into another Corsa I think I would go for the Ecotec engine in a newer car...

both have there pro's and cons. depends if you want to be different or not. loads of people slate the 2.0 ecotach engines but there not that bad. ecotechs do cost more to tune than a redtop but there are more out there in better condition. most redtop engines will have been trashed

But the money you save on buying the older redtop can be spent on re-building it a little, and like Ian said, more power

Go for the redtop. More power, cheaper and IMO more reliable.
Saying that, it's hard to find a low mileage one now. Will have to have a bit saved up for a rebuild

Yea, but you can still pick up good condition redtops. High mileage doesn't neccassarily mean they need a rebuild. Just make sure your buying a doner car so you can see how it runs.

I have a xev in a corsa,it went in easy enough and has cost me less than a grand to make ,tuning side of things are no more than an xe ,mine has cams and a flywheel so far,
flywheel:200.00 courtenay
cams:370.00
next on my list is headwork ,all the parts required to fit this engine are the same as the xe.ie,mounting kit gear linkage etc
Touch wood I will be bringing it to pvs,so your all more than welcome to check it out and see what you think for yourselves
