I was wondering before, how long would it actually take for a thread to load up on 56k say one with 10 pics. I cant remember back to my horse and cart internet days.

would probably make the internet reeeaalllyyyy laggy if there were so many pictures. hence why some people say (56k dont bother)

Also, Broadband is cheaper than 56k now. Sort your life out you two people who are still dialing up

you do realise this is going to accentuate the problem?
everyone will be doing it for 1 picture now

10km infact TNM, my brother used to work for BT
they tell the public its 2km, to stop people being annoyed when its not immedately available, but its actually 10km before the connection stops working

You should be able to get 2meg normal adsl 2km away and with max you'll be near 8meg.
Its not actually distance either, your line just roughly degrades in quality as the length of the line gets longer.
I'm well over 5km out and have 2.5meg atm.
