Anyone know what the correct tyre pressure should be for 18" wheels, 225/40/18 tyre

Look on the trye, shouldn't it say on tyre

that is the MAXIMUM pressure the tyre is safe at, you WILL die if you drive with 60psi in your tyres

should be in your manual, mines is on a sticker inside the fuel cap, may be same with them both being vag cars.

look in the fuel flap, theres a little panel that tells you

likely to be 2.1 bar front and 1.9 back

i had 15" as standard would that make any difference

go out and look at the fuel filler flap, it will have different sizes, pick the closest one, probably 225/45/17, and use the pressures for that if it doesnt have your size listed

only thing on the cap was a chart with number of people not tyre sizes

tyre pressure depends on the car and engine type, not the wheel or tyre size.
