That's the 1, high comp, 130bhp, 132lb/ft of torque, lighter than an xe, no cat req 4 MOT, as fitted 2 Mk2 Cav SRi130, Mk2 Astra GTE and Mk3 Cav SRi to J reg. Really cheap 2 buy in a donor car(this gives u the shafts, and bigger brakes). Really easy to fit(no shell mods). Run colder than an xe(only need 1.0 12v rad). Insurance cheaper than xe.
Don't get me wrong, i'm gonna b building an xe sleeper when i find a decent shell in an ugly colour cheap enough.

What, as in the old bomb proof SOHC unit that Vauxhall put in the MK II Cavalier? Same as Cav SRi 130?

They are quite cars.

Always wanted one when I had my old 1.6 GLS Cav.

Brilliant engines those.

Absolutely indestructable. Used to thrash the pants of mine all the time, and I mean mercylessly and it started on the button and purred like a kitten.

If readily available, especially cheap, would make a nice conversion on carbs for a lightweight Nova or Corsa I would have thought.

Edit: whoops, just read Corsab8v's response. Silly me.
