wired up amp today left the engine while i was tuning it and my gfriend said whats all that smoke coming out of your bonnet it was the coolant overboiling. l;eft it then put ignition on so the electric fans went for a bit
waited 15mins put water in her so collant was at level then drove slowly 2 miles home and when i go here there was no water in the coolant
worried atm dont know what it could be hope its not the gasket going to see when it had it done milleage wise

took her for 4 mile
its raining and 4.5 outside if it matters
going around 30mph keeping her no more than 3500revs
the coolant was hot wen i looked and steamed but only a tiny bit and there was a tiny bit of steam from radiator area dont know if thats cos if temp outsideis low. will take her out again.
also collant level didnt drop
run then checked her out

Not always, depends on where the head gasket has gone

'munk' under the oil cap doesn't mean head gasket
when I had my corsa every winter i used to get this and it was water in the oil but from condensation as I only drove 5 miles to work and back
