It was good...

Went to:
- Empire State Building (went to top - silly how high it is)
- Madison Square Garden to watch a basketball game (Good atmosphere but very stop start - whoever invented Time outs wants shooting)
- Grand Central Station (Huge..)
- Macy's (Department Store bit of a let down but spent a bit in there)
- Central Park (Has squirells in and everything)
- Century21 (Department Store - Spent most in here)
- Statue of Liberty (Smaller than I expected)
- South Island Ferry (Free Boat Trip)
- Ground Zero (Eerie place - Plaque on site of who died etc)
- Chrysler Building
- Chinatown (Most restaurants shut before 10pm!!! )
- Little Italy (Is only one street now as the chinese keep buying them out)
- Flatiron Building (Where Veronica's Kitchen?? is set)
- Yankee Stadium (Amazing - loved it!)
- US Court House + New York County Court House (Personal interest)
- Times Square (Like a glorified Blackpool)
- Rockefeller Centre (Amazing place had a meal in Josephs and in the Rainbow Room)
- New York Library
- Bar89 (Nice bar)
- Pacha NYC (Brilliant - Was on Concierge guestlist so had access to all areas and a VIP table in the club. Music was spot on and the club looks amazing - Erick did design it!!)

Sounds like an action packed trip

I'm off there next Saturday! How long did you go for?

How long did it take to go to Liberty Island? What time did you get to the ferry and how long did it take to do etc before you were back in Manhatten? Did you stop at ellis Island?

Sorry for all the questions but I've got a vested interest

i went to ellis island and liberty island, doesnt take that long to get to them, on ellis island its worth getting the free tour from this park ranger guy, you dont need to spend that much time on liberty island though. we went at about 11 in the morning and i went for 5 days. going back again in summer, cant wait

I read reports that it takes ages to get tickets to Liberty Island and that the queing makes it take a long time before you get back from Ellis Island.

I'm going for 4 nights so will be cramming in as much as possible!

I heard Little Italy is just Mulberry Street, but plan to visit it, Chinatown and Greenwich Village for suburbs, then the sights at the south end and midtown areas.

Did you go to Top of the Rock?

word of advice for when you go, dont get stuck in coney island, harlem or the bronx at night especcially. they are bad enough in the day. we got lost in coney island at night once and it wasnt a very pleasent experience

for clubs at night go to an area called the meatpacking district (its not a gay area) and i highly recomend 2 clubs called hogs and heiffers and lotus! absolutely awesome places!

Its a nice place to visit and experience, but I wouldn't like to live there. Americans have their own culture like other places.

The majority of them may be a bunch of God-fearing self-loving arrogant ass holes, but not all of them are.

I plan to visit as many places in the world as possible. the USA offers places totally different to the UK, but they (roughly) speak the same language, have cash points, good shopping, they do tourism extremely well and its a fun place to visit.

You can't dismiss the place based on a stereotype!

Give me Las Vegas over Blackpool any day and Disney World over Frances Euro Disney everytime
