Paul, if u want a horse to finish in the first 4 places you need state Each Way (EW) which just means what ever u stake u times it by 2 to give your total stake. I.E £5 EW SGL HEADGEHUNTER 4/1 is £10 total stake. You will get a return if it places in teh first 4. if it wins you get more than if it comes 2,3,4th

you should do like four £2.50 ew bets. then you get to cheer on 4 horses and have a greater chance of a return
