I work in wakefield and my boss pays me by cheque, his bank is HSBC which is just outside here, and im with HSBC too. Im told that the reason cheques take so long2clear is because they need to be sent to issuing bank for clearance.
Because im paying it in at the issuing bank, does it clear instantly?? Cheers guys.

much better than Lloyds, Abbey etc...
hsbc 1 of the best
well, just ask inside the bank...I deposited a cheque yesterday, today it shows on my account, even transfered it on another account, so I guess it has cleared.
