I have been given some reliable information from a friend in the know.
As of the 1st April 2006, the new digital automated tracking system between Junctions 3 and 7B on the M42 is scheduled to go live.
There are 276 Digital Cameras which have been set to 2MPH tolerance. You will not see any flash, the only time you'll know you've been caught is when your NIP comes through in the post.
I wouldnt be surprised if these will become more widespread very very soon so be careful out there and watch your speed.
Ben.

I know theres a lot of tracking cameras about - these are the first in the country as im aware to have such a small tolerance on them. Usually its 10% but these deliver the tiny 2MPH tolerance.
Im not competing at who's got them and who's not or whose are better, just warning people to look out for them. I know a lot of people go through cameras thinking they have at least 5mph tolerance.

If its average speed cameras it doesn't matter how fast you go through them
It takes a note of you average speed from the 1st one you pass till the last one you pass.

That's silly imo. 2mph on a motorway. Fuck I'm not taking m42.
I think the system will crash if the tolerence is only 2mph as too many people will get nicked.

spedo's dont over read enless you have put 18's+ on then it might
but that would allso be your problem
Remember its 70mph max speed it is not a sign to drive at 70mph
if you have a problem do 65mph then theres no probz then

i travel on the m42 every day and people fly past me in the outside lane over 70mph do they get done??? they can also change the camrea's to different speed limits eg moring traffic is 40mph so they will be set ,so any more than 42mph and you will be done!!! just to get it right these camreas dont even work yet?????
