1959 - 2000, from Austin to Rover some 41 years in production . Where would the world have been without the Classic Mini.
Designed on a table cloth in the late 50's in a restaurant by Sir Alec Issigonis to combat the Suez fuel crisis.Tthe Mini became a legend in its own lifetime. Copied by every single other car maker - how many cars today have the same east-west engine configuration ? A tremendous success in International Rallying in the 60's, including 3 Monte Carlo outright wins.Well over 5 million have been built and sold. Voted on numerous occasions as the number 1 car of the 20th century.
