hmmm just got through the first stage to be a beach lifeguard over the summer at my local beach.
i now have to compleate a 400m swim in 8 mins or less.
is this easy to do, not really been training any cardio lately as ive been bulking and body building mainly.
i only have 5 days to prepare which i though was a bit harsh.
gonna go for a swim at 9.
so is this a hard feat or is it just mild as i really have no idea. im a really strong swimmer but not to sure on how long i can last.

Good luck, just time yourself when you go for your swim or go every day if you can, it will make it easier imo.

The current Olympic record for 400m freestyle is 3 minutes 40 seconds, set in 2000......I wouldn't have thought 8 minutes would be too difficult, to be honest.

8 minutes should be attainable even if you are a little under fit as you just have to push yourelf a bit harder but as said, practice a bit first

in a normal pool you are looking at 16 lengths, giving you 30 seconds per length which will be a piece of piss!
I could do a 25m freestyle length in just under 16 seconds when i was swimming with a proper team so as long as you pace yourself you can do it!
