i think the only arch mods u gotta do is grind away the bolt heads behind the arch ??? I may b wrong tho ..

ok so 40mm will be ok? would just getting lowering springs be alrite? or wud i have sum probs by just changin the springs?

yes you can...... that roby b (thinks thats the name) of here has something like et35 and 60mm..... obviously scrubs but i presume its ok to dirve sensibly.

I would say from what i have heard, see what its like lowered, if its scrubs at all or if it scrubs a bit. If it does you'll probably have to de-bolt and bond on, to get rid of the scrubbing.
