We're meant to be getting hit with one soon, and possibly our town put on those communal water trailers (have to go and get water from a tank to use it - rationed ! ) Not looking forward to that!

Suprise suprise. It's all down to bad planning and people being wasteful. Story of our lives.

washed it today

I can't understand how countries like this can get short of water and have bans on, when you go to the likes of turkey etc, sunny most of the time and they are out everyday with huge water trucks watering the trees and plants FFS..This country really is in a shambles..

just wondered as i was washing my missus's car today and this old boy walked past and said "dont let the old bill catch you doing that lad" he said there was one put in place about 2 weeks ago.

i washed 3 cars yesterday and another today. probably not helping the situation. Saying that, there is a hydrant that has been leaking for about 2 weeks now just down the road from me and nowt has been done to stop it, just a couple of thames water blokes came out to look at it and scarpered about 5 minutes later.

75% of water lost is due to burst pipes iirc - the system is that old & would take billions to replace!!!

Mav's alright washing that volvo down - we have tonnes of water up here!! Another thing scotlands good for

Its cheaper up here to let the bursts run than to fix them.
Costs almost nothing to just let it leak.
We have plenty to waste though

all im saying is there seems to be more water made available, So why can't we use sea water and filter it out, we already filter most of the stuff that goes down the toliet and drink it, i blame the water companys

Filtration would cost too much & be more complex to use sea water!!
