shops r ok, everyshop had the same stuff tho the designer ones rock tho if you have the ££. People are really really nice tho none of this american arrogance thing.

I was a bit bored but my mate i went with had the flu, if she had been ok i think it would have rocked. I sooo want to go back and do everything i didnt before. Wanna go there for new year at some point too.

Went last year and it was AWESOME!

You will prob use the subway a lot its like $1 a time or 6 rides for $5 something like that, the whole city has a buzz though i loved it

got talkin to one of the security guards at the mtv store in times square and he was saying every shop in times square and surrounding it know that there are loads of tourists coming through every day so bump prices up. But some are still reasonable depending on the exchange rate.

Macy's is awesome and prices arnt too bad in there actually, i picked up a few tommy hilfiger polo tops for about $15 each!

Catch the train to 14th Street - Exactly same stuff as Times Square, but cheaper

ed will tell you more about it as he's been aswell and liked it!

you will love it mate

i went with college i loved the place

food is cheap, just like the movies with diners and steam coming from the streets

i got a cheap mini disk player in china town u can haggle for prices, but they do lock you in the shops at times

my mate bought a base ball bat to take home yankies one it was, carried it over his shoulder through the mall, suprised to say got followed by security guards all the way

oh and you get good service over there my mate bought a watch, from maceys, and they actually clean it when its on your wrist lol

but don't take any photos in china town i almost got attacked by somebody because they don't like their photos taken even though i was getting the view!

New York sounds awsome ...... would love to go, shop till you drop and all that. I'd be in heaven!!

One BIG problem, I've never been in a plane, the thought of flying petrifies me. And after watching the programme on CH4 tonight about 9/11 I doubt I'll ever pluck up the courage

Don't bother with the bus tours.. my brothers & I skipped that, whilst all the rest of the family did it, and we had a much better time hopping on & off the underground with a daysaver. We saw loads more than they did!!

Empire State - Try & tag on the end of a "bus tour" group.. we did this, and you skip the first 30-40 mins of queues. Then once inside the lobby area, opt for the tickets that come with the "show/museum/history" bit.. It costs an extra $5 or summot (maybe not even that), but to buy those, you have to go to the gift shop, which is a few flights up... again, skipping 30-40 mins of queues!! Once you've bought the tickets from the shop, you're not required to go back downstairs... just scrap the extra ticket, and re-join the queue from that level!

Ground Zero - Erie place.. take your tissues

Meal in Little Italy - Make sure you go to Il Cortile (http://ilcortile.com/)... SERIOUSLY, the BEST Itallian in NY I'd go back to NY just to eat there again!

Visit China Town - Like RS6 said, watch you don't get locked in the shops! ha ha My brother got pushed in & they shut up, cos the cops rolled round the corner.. its really funny! You've got this bustling street, full of shops.. then you hear someone shout summot.. look round & theres a patrol car turning into the street, and its like all the shops suddenly disappear!!! Its well worth seeing! lol

Central Park - There's a nice spot overlooking the ice rink.. you can sit on the rocks, facing the edge of the city, with the park & ice rink infront of you... its AMAZING!! My 2 brothers & I spent about an hour watching the sun go down on there, listening to the music from the rink & watching the skaters etc.. it was magical! Didn't get any pics though, which I was gutted about I think its the same bit where they go in "Maid in Manhatten"

Also, don't forget to pay Central Station a visit.. not much to see, but while you're there, you may aswell. Also, see if you can find "Maggies Place" (http://stubs.fotopic.net/p7200226.html).. I think its the smallest pub in NY, or its an English pub.. can't remeber now, but bet you can't find it!

Oh, and there's the Rockafella centre..

Hope you enjoy yourself.. we had a wicked time, partially also because it was the thanksgiving weekend.. but I think its an awesome place for anytime of the year!

We went to Crobar when we went before, and to the one in Miami. Look for a place called the Suede Bar
Also, century 21 near ground zero is good for shopping

Ground Zero I don't want to go back there again.

Do the back stage tour at Radio City. I thought that was good.

On my first day in New York I had to wait for 5 hours before I could check into the Hostel. I had a sleep in Central Park. It's nice in there. During the day

You'll find that there are loads of electrical shops around Times Square. They all sell laptops and stuff at okish prices. To be honest, I reckon you could get one in the UK for the same price. The US ins't that cheap, especially as the exchange rate isn't as good as it used to be... Canada is the place to get stuff cheap
