If its been welded then there is no need for fibreglass just a skim of filler if done properly.

My mate was round earlier and he does this for a living and his own words "thats well dodgy as fibreglass reacts to heat and will expand and contract depedning on temperature ie the weather."

Also although my bodyshop knowledge is some what limited I know for a fact I wouldnt be happy with someone using fibreglass to fix dents and general bodywork...probably to repairs bumpers or plastics but never the shell I do take a great interest in these projects and religiously watch over the restorations and rebuilds section on PF but this is the first time i've seen fibreglass used on actual body reapairs

In all seriousnous well done to him for restoring one of my favourtite cars, but everyones entitled to their own opinion and I just commented on how I didnt think it was wise.

I would have to disagree with that, well it may contract and expand but not by enough to make a difference, I have sideskirts fitted to my car and they are blended into the bodyshell by poprivits and fibreglass, they have been on the car now for almost 2 years and havent cracked at all. If fibreglassing is done properly and on secure areas, such as pop-rivited or welded then it will be fine,
