The jobs local to me and exactly what im looking for.
I used to work there under there old MD when i was 16
What should I ask?
Im pretty confident on what to say, just wondering if anyones got tips on extra bits to say or ask to make me sound good!

when they ask you if you have any questions ask their opinion about some aspect of the company ... show's you've done a bit of research into them and put some thought into the interview

right, well seem keen and confident, talk as much as you can, try to bring up similar interests with him. end of day you need him to remember you! show initiative and that youve given thought to the job (think up few questions and also possibly objectives and targets you are going to set yourself), youve gota give him something no one else can! 99% of time in interview, they make up their decision in the first 5 seconds (this has been proven in many psychological studies), so go in lookin good, shake his hand, etc

Problem is as its a medium sized race team i dont want to arrive in a suit as i think it will give the impression that im not keen on getting hands dirty.
i was thinking smart jeans, shoes and a shirt perhaps??

as him if he takes it up the arse from his missus with a strap on
Seriously though, just appear confident and keep eye contact. And dont ask about wages straight away, as you may come across as greedy. As if their is scope to move forward in the company, etc. So it seems you will want to stay with them for years and learn with them.

I have an interview with Toyota UK next week...bricking it. I was on the interview panel for my replacement when I did my Sandwich year and that really helped!!!
Confidence but not cocky is the key I think! Good luck mate!

If it was a proper interview then yes, but its more of a talk as such to see if he likes me.
If so then i assume i will be offered the placement.
If it was a proper interview then yes full suit would be ideal!

nah, deffo go in a suit. I've had 2 interviews so far for placements and they ask the same sort of things. Mainly they ask you things about working as a team and describe a time when you have been part of a good team effort etc... The racing team wouldn't happen to be red bull racing would it ?? cos they have just put an ad for a placement on my uni intranet...

I would still say smart pants with shirt and tie would do. I wouldnt go with jeans and shirt to any interview personally, even to a Maccy D's place!!

Im through the last stages at Red Bull as well,
But this is a smal local firm nowhere as big as a BTCC team etc and its more a formal chat!
I think if i wear a suit il look a tit as its more of a chat about things and he said he wants to meet me before we go further.
Also as its a race team and my sole job will be a junior engineer i think wearing a suit will give the impression perhaps im more an office person??

You could always take your overalls and mention you have them as you didn't know if you would be required to show your skills...
